Brief description

The aim of the course is to show students selected areas of history as a living science, references to which can be found in literature related to the genre of fantasy and science fiction. For this purpose, biographies of individual authors, milestones of the genre, were used to make students aware of how much the history of Europe in the ancient period, the Middle Ages and, above all, the first half of the 20th century, shaped the worlds and characters created by them. As this course is aimed primarily at foreigners, its aim is also to promote the works of our native artists, as well as show them their correlations with actual events mentioned by the authors themselves in their works or in interviews with them.

Brief description

The European Social Union is a kind of institutional counterpart to the Economic and Monetary Union initiated as a result of the financial crisis and the so-called logic of "socially cool economism." Ambitious goals have been set, i.e.: social progress, full employment, integration and non-discrimination, social justice, equality between men and women, intergenerational solidarity and protection of children's rights. The European Pillar of Social Rights, proclaimed in Gothenburg in November 2017, is intended to help achieve them.

Brief description

The classes taught in this course are designed to develop students' awareness of the basic concepts of international security and the contemporary threats currently faced by the international community. This framing of the issue aims to be able to confront these concepts with these threats. Another issue forming the subject of the teaching involves the identification of international organisations responsible for international security. An analysis of the objectives, competences and actions taken in practice will allow students to make their own judgement as to whether or not a particular organisation deserves to be considered as protecting international security. The dynamically changing conditions of the surrounding reality in the form of a number of threats, i.e. natural disasters, pandemic or war threats, makes it necessary to develop appropriate corrective or preventive actions and to apply them effectively.
