Course description

The course in Dialoguing Between Difference (DBD) is dedicated to removing barriers to communication and cooperation that exist between people of different sociocultural backgrounds. One of the goals of the course is to provide venues in which members of the community may engage in conversations about diversity, equality, and tolerance. A place where commonalities are expanded upon, differences are recognized, and disagreements are seen as chances for growth. They may interact via conversation despite differences in identity and point of view, which is meant to encourage positive connections by means of clear expression

Course objectives:

- providing knowledge about the relationships between minorities and dominant groups in society

- realizing the significance of language in bridging cultural gaps

- providing knowledge about the concept of symbolic and linguistic violence

- identifying different communication styles and comprehending the impact of cultural norms on the dissemination of information

- Learning and practicing intercultural communication as a means of developing one's leadership abilities

pass at 60% of the final grade
