Course description

The course is designed to broaden the students’ knowledge of the fantastic genres. The course draws the student’s attention to the numerous fantastic subgenres and their intermingling.

Course objectives

The aim of the course is to raise students’ awareness of the fantastic genres and to provide them with basic tools to analyse and interpret literary texts

1. Active participation in classes 10 %of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4)

2. Final discussion of a text chosen by the lecturer 30% (outcome 1, 3,4)

3. Reading and analysing short fragments of fantastic texts 20 % (outcome 1, 3,4)

4. Individual discussion of chosen notions introduced during the term 40% (outcome 1,2,3,4)
