Knowledge

The student knows and understands:

1. the role of English as a cognitive means and a tool used for translating texts (k_W03/P6S_WG)

2. advanced methods of analysis and interpretation of texts needed for translation purposes (k_W04/P6S_WG)

Skills:

The student is able to

3. recognize different types of texts in order to perform their critical analysis for the purpose of translation (k_U02/ P6S_UW)

4. prepare short translations from English into Polish and vice versa (k_U04/ P6S_UK)

5. take up individual and group activities aimed at text translations (k_U08/ P6S_ UO)

Social competences: the student is ready to

6. accept linguistic and cultural differences and recognize them as natural vocational factors (k_K03/ P6S_KO)

Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:

Active participation in classes (knowledge and skill level outcomes);

Partial tasks (skill level outcomes).

Final paper (knowledge level outcomes);

Determination of the final grade based on activity (50%) and partial grades or the final paper/test (50%).

Passing at 60% of the final grade
