The course aims -to equip the students with knowledge about the procedures and stages of quantitative and quantitative research in Applied Linguistics including methods of analysis and interpretation of texts in SLA. -to provide and discuss examples of good quality academic texts, describing quantitative and qualitative research. ------------------ Course content: Quantitative research tools Quantitative research tools Collecting and storing data in line with ethical issues Data analysis: basic statistics, correlations Displaying data Data interpretation and discussion ----------------- Methods of instruction: text analysis, discussion, multimedia presentations |
