Course description

The course on Voice emission offers an opportunity to gain knowledge on processes and mechanisms responsible for optimal voice emission and to develop skills of optimal voice emission needed in the teaching career.

Course objectives

The main goal is to equip the students with knowledge regarding the effective use of the voice. The participants will become more aware of the role of vocal hygiene, breathing, phonation, articulation and resonance in optimal voice emission. They will also develop sensitivity to sounds and the value of speech fluency and intelligibly.

3. Basic information about speech organs, their anatomy and functioning

4. Types of breathing,

5. Phonation,

6. Articulation and speech intelligibility

7. Breathing excersises

8. Exercises in phonation,

9. Articulation and speech intelligibility

10. Speech fuency - practice

11 Presentation of tasks - self-reflection on the manner of speaking

multimedia presentations, group discussion, individual practice of aspects of voice emission, ICT tools/MSTeams platform

Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:

1. Partial grades from in class tasks - 50% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3)

2. Presentation of the voice emission - 50% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3)
