Course description

The course supports the students in reaching their C1-level competence In English in the oral aspect. It introduces the students to a variety of styles and techniques in presenting and public speaking. Students practice understanding of texts carrying hidden meaning, public and formal speaking including sufficient fluency and precision, correct usage of rules of pronunciation and intonation, appropriate usage of the language in speaking for formal purposes.

Course objectives

- preparing students for successful conferencing tasks through composing speeches and presentations

- conducting academic discussions.

- preparation for C1-Level Practical English Exam with respect to oral perormance

Forms of evaluation of learning otucomes PRK 2019:

1. Active participation - 40% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6)

2. A written report with oral presentation analysis - 20% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,5,6)

3. Own presentation (recorded) 40% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5)

Grading criteria:

60%=3;

80%=4;

100%=5
