Course description

This is a course designated to English and Italian Module. The course gives students practice in communication skills (listening and speaking) at A2+/B1 level. The discussed content will concern issues typical of contemporary Italy. The speaking skill is improved through the acquisition of new vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, language registers and a specific cultural context

Course objectives:

The main aim of the course is developing students' listening and speaking skills on the example of stimulating material (texts of civilization, songs, short videos) in correlation with the content of the course textbook La prova orale 1

3. use the Italian language in speaking at the level A2+/B1 of the Common European Framework for Languages with relative fluency, accuracy and communication efficiency in a wide range of general, cultural and business topics (m-U-2/P6S_UK)

4. shapes their own views on the basis of the gained general and detailed knowledge of the Italian language area (m-K-1/P6S_KK)

Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:

1. Active participation in classes - 45% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4)

2. Speaking performance - 55% of the final grade (outcomes 1,2,3,4)

Criteria of assessment of speaking:

40% communicative effectiveness

30% grammatical accuracy

20% vocabulary range

10% intonation and pronunciation

Pass the 60% of the final grade
