Course description

This is a course designated to English and Italian Module. It is a continuation of Italian - speaking skills 1. The course gives students further practice in communication skills (listening and speaking) at B1/B2 level. The discussed content will concern issues typical of contemporary Italy. The speaking skill is improved through the acquisition of new vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, language registers and a specific cultural context

Course objectives:

The main aim of the course is developing students' listening and speaking skills on the example of stimulating material (texts of civilization, songs, short videos)

1. has the ordered knowledge of the Italian language; knows the lexical-grammatical and phonological rules of the Italian language at the B1/B2 level, and the rules of the selection of means for expressing specific types of information (m-W-1/P6S_WG)

3. use the Italian language in speaking at the level B1/B2 of the Common European Framework for Languages with relative fluency, accuracy and communication efficiency in a wide range of general, cultural and business topics (m-U-2/P6S_UK)

The student

4. shapes their own views on the basis of the gained general and detailed knowledge of the Italian language area (m-K-1/P6S_KK)

Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes:

1. Active participation in classes - 45% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4)

2. Speaking performance - 55% of the final grade (outcomes 1,2,3,4)

Criteria of assessment of speaking:

40% communicative effectiveness

30% grammatical accuracy

20% vocabulary range

10% intonation and pronunciation

Pass the 60% of the final grade
