Skrócony opis:

Course description

The course is a practical continuation of its theoretical part. It offers the implementation of the main ideas (ethos, logos, pathos, invention, arrangement, style, memory, delivery, fallacious argumentation, and many others) into specific contexts. By means of practical exercises. the students will learn how to persuasively speak in the business negotiation contexts (Business Group), in digital media promotion contexts (Media Group), and various cultural contexts.

1 Rhetoric and persuasion in business negotiations

2 Specific role of rhetorical tools in ethos-,pathos-,and ethos-oriented persuasions

3 Rhetoric in a job interview

4 How to effectively negotiate?

5 How to evoke personal strengths?

6 Personal strengths in the context of the target audience

7 Soft skills and hard skills: how to persuasively talk about them?

8 Rhetoric and persuasion in digital rhetoric promotion

9 Persuasive speech as the competence of negotiator/promoter

10 Case studies

Metody i kryteria oceniania:

Learning outcomes acc to PRK 2019

1. Active participation in classes - 40% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4)

2. Video presentation/online presentation/in class presentation on a specific topic - 30% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4)

3. Other advanced forms possible (e.g. recording a video clip based on academic material) in the case of willingness to achieve a higher grade - 30% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5)

Pass at 60% of the final grade
