Course description

The main task of the course is to improve students' writing skills at B2+/ C1 level through various writing exercises and in-class activities. The course is a continuation of a writing course in the previous semester.

Course objectives:

The main aim of the course is to develop students' writing skills. Being a continuation of Current events: writing 1, this course will help the students develop their understanding of various writing techniques, simultaneously improving their grammatical correctness in the writing process.

Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes

1. Active participation in-class - 25% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,6)

2. Three in-class assignments - up to 75% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5) (each 25%)

To get a credit students need to pass all written assignments. The criteria to pass a written perfomance at B2+/C1:

50-59% - 3,0

60-69% - 3,5

70-79% - 4,0

80-89% - 4,5

90-100%- 5,0

Passing the course at 60% of the final grade
