Course description: This course gives students the opportunity to put their English speaking skills into practice while arguing various topics based around current events. To do this, students will collaborate with their colleagues on research and presentation production as well as critical analysis. Students are expected to manage a B2+/C1 level of proficiency in their oral communication. |
| Pełny opis: |
Course objectives: The objective of this course is to give students the confidence and practical strategies to use their English speaking skills in arguing various topics based around current events at B2+/C1 level of proficiency. This will involve a degree of collaboration with their colleagues combined with research and critical analysis. Students will practice further presentation techniques, including the use of IT presentation software, improve their public speaking confidence, as well as gain a good deal of practically acquired knowledge on argumentation and debating. ---------------- Course content: The classes will focus on various topics based around current events. ---------------- Methods of instruction/ forms of classroom activity: Oxford debates, group work and pair work, recordings, presentation, ICT tools/online work if needed - MSTeams |
