Course objectives: The aim of this course is to share with students some practical ideas regarding teaching English using various resources: elements of culture, stories, songs and games. Relying on professional methodology sources, the students will gain insight into how to teach reading and listening comprehension, oral communication, and writing as well as how to use songs, stories and games to teach vocabulary and grammar. The course is rich in practical activities and maybe useful to those students who consider teaching as a profession in the future. Course content: 1. Introduction. Neuroscience-brain friendly teaching. Why alternative ways of teaching a foreign language? 2. The relationship between language learning and culture. 3. Culture and intercultural communicating activities/ reading comprehension activities/ translating activities 6. Why do learners benefit from storytelling? 7. Storytelling and developing reading comprehension skills/ writing and speaking skills 9. The values of teaching a language through songs. 10. Songs and teaching vocabulary and grammar/ listening comprehension/ speaking and writing 11. The benefits of using games in foreign language learning. 12.
