Course description: The elective course deals with basic problems found in selected translation theories as well as with specificity of specialist translation seen from both theoretical and practical perspective. It is dedicated to NON-TRANSLATION module groups and native or native-like speakers of POLISH ONLY. |

Course objectives The aim of the course is to introduce students to the area of translations of non-specialist texts and to develop students' general skills in translating written materials from English into Polish and from Polish into English, using different types of vocabularies and paying special attention to differences in sentence structure and syntax between the two languages and the problems connected with style in different types of texts. Exercises are supposed to improve students' lexical, stylistic, and grammatical correctness. Forms of instruction: text analysis, translations, interpretations, online tools |
