Course objectives The course objective is to enhance the student’s understanding of the many complex dimensions of stress along with proposing different strategies in overcoming stress encountered in the course of everyday life. Additionally students will improve their speaking, listening as well as reading comprehension skills in English. ------------------------- Course content 1. Stress: An Introduction 2. Stress, Biology and Psychology 3. The Causes and Ramifications of Stress: Case Studies 4. Introduction to Coping Mechanisms: The Good and the Bad 5. Music therapy and its influence on stress reduction 6. Art and Stress 7. Animal-Assistance and its Benefits 8. The Power behind Breathing Techniques and Smiling 9. Stress and Positive Thinking 10. Stress and Gender 11. Individual Projects with discussion 12. Individual Projects with discussion -------------------- Methods of teaching / forms of instruction ICT tools, MSTeams platform, working in pairs and groups, projects and exercises that require creative and critical thinking, input in textual, visual as well as auditory form. |
