The course refers to analysing texts as products of various discourses. It covers both theoretical and practical issues.

The course covers the following topics:

1. text analysis - theoretical considerations

2. sentences or texts? the issues of sentence and text grammar

3. the criteria of textuality - the classic and modern views

3. the notions of style

4. coherence - texts in communication

5. meaning in texts
