Skrócony opis: |
The seminar is profiled and refers to critical language/communication studies. Topics in soio-linguistic and textual analyses are also welcome. During the seminar the Students select topics for their research papers and realise their writing research projects throughout the two semesters. The seminar terminates with BA defence |

The topics covered during the first semester: 1. CDA - the theory and practice 2. Social groups and identities - stance, position and ideology in texts 3. Figurative and metaphorical language 4. Institutionalised and non-institutionalised discourses - bias, imbalance and power 5. Gender, age and politics - the images of individuals and groups constructed in public discourses |

Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
1. Students attend the class and take part in discussions 2. Students prepare projects: ppt presentations or debates on topics selected from the list 3. For credit the Students present their theses in print delivered according to the schedule set at the beginning of the semester. |
