Course description:

In this lecture the students discuss basic philosophical terms, disciplines, ideas and problems, especially those within ancient, British, and American philosophy, for example: Plato's Allegory of the Cave, hedonism, Stoicism, wisdom, prejudices and mistakes (F. Bacon's Idols), utilitarianism, and pragmatism. The lecture has a conversational character so that students be given opportunities to express their views also in the contemporary contexts.

Basic Philosophical Disciplines in Practical Contexts

Greek Philosophy (Allegory of the Cave, famous phrases)

British Philosophy (Idols of the Cave)

American Philosophy (Pragmatism)
