(tylko po angielsku) The aim of the course is to introduce students the basic knowledge of chemical properties of macrobiomolecules and processes occurring in the cells of living organisms. |

(tylko po angielsku) During the course, students are required to perform 10 laboratory exercises, indicated by the teacher Subjects of experiments: 1. Separation of dyes by column and thin-layer chromatography. 2. Sugars – detection, properties. 3. Proteins – detection, properties. 4. Lipids – detection, properties. 5. Cell membrane, plasmolysis. 6. Extraction and separation of chlorophylls. 7. Influence of biologically active compounds on photosynthesis. 8. External factors that affect the rate of transpiration. 9. The effect of temperature on plant respiration. 10. Effect of pH on enzyme activity. 11. Biosynthesis of citric acid. 12. Environmental tolerance. |

Efekty uczenia się: |
(tylko po angielsku) Students will gain the basic knowledge of the (a) chemical properties of macrobiomolecules, (b) chemical structure of subcellular structures and cells of living organisms, (c) chemical processes associated with metabolism and energy occurring in the cells of living organisms. |
Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
(tylko po angielsku) During the course, students are required to: - perform 10 laboratory exercises, - prepare written reports after exercises (report should consist of introduction, experimental section, results, discussion and conclusions) - write summary test. The grade is based on points obtained for lab reports and written test. The positive grade is obtained after receiving a minimum of 50% of the total number of points. |
