The course offers some basic insights into multiculturalism understood as a policy of the governmental and federal institutions in Canada and the US to deal with the diversity of cultures, languages, religions, ethnicities, and genders, according to the principles of human rights and social justice. |

The course follows a discussion format intertwined with practical exercises on the basis of reading assignments.
