  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Course is designed to provide students with practical ability to work on effective translations of business materials, written and verbal, between English and Polish languages.

Course objectives

- to develop a practical ability to prepare translations and interpretations of business texts between English and Polish, with attention to context and purpose.

Course content

Working on source materials related to various aspects of business activities. Translation practice of business presentations, press articles, marketing materials, formal document templates in business context.

1. Active participation in classes - 50 % of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5)

2. Translation of sample business materials - 50 % of the final grade (outcome 2,3,4,5,6)
