Course description: Academic lecture series is meant to broaden MA students' knowledge of academic topics related to humanities in general and to liberal arts in particular. |
Full description: |
Course objectives: The lecture is aimed at detailing students’ knowledge of the theoretical framework, methodological preferences and analytic preoccupations of linguistics, literary studies, culture studies, media studies, public communication, social studies or entherpreneurship. The course is intended as an elaboration and diversification of students’ broad orientation and a support in development of individual interests of selected areas in liberal arts domain. -------------- Course content depends on the teachers' research interests and specialist knowledge. ---------------- Methods of instruction/ forms of classroom activity multimedia presentation, discussion, reading, text analysis, essay writing, ICT tools/MSTeams |

Learning outcomes acc to PRK since 2019 Knowledge Students know and understand 1. scientific facts pertaining to the complexity of phenomena related to language in (mediated) communication (k_W01/P7S_WG) 2. differences in medial, stylistic and generic conventions of linguistic communication and various rhetorical traditions (across cultures, times and institutions) (k_W03/P7S_WG) 3. complex theoretical models as well as their implications for the advancement of interdisciplinary studies of key issues within the areas of humanistic and social sciences (k_W04/P7S_WG) 4. advanced methods of analysis of human beings as social agents within larger social structures and of rules according to which they function (k_W12/P7S_WG) Skills Students can: 5. use English at least at the level of C1 and in the scope of specialist terminology in the humanities and social sciences to share their knowledge (k_U13/P7S_UK) |
