The aim of the course is to introduce students the US case law, as part of the Common Law system and the importance of precedents in the American legal system. During the course students will have possibility to know the specificity of American thinking about the law, methods of analysis of legal cases, basis of American legal reasoning and legal argumentation, and importance of the doctrine of activist judges in the US as well as disputes on its borders. |
