Course description The course is dedicated to those students who see their future in education, working with adult learners in language schools and running in-company courses for corporate clients. How to motivate grown-ups? How to set achievable goals and stick to them? What are the priories of an adult learner? How to prepare for the first in-company lesson? Course objectives The main aim of the course is to have an insight into objectives, principles and strategies for working with an adult English language learner. The course aims to prepare students for teaching adult learners, offering some practical tips, taking into consideration the demands, challenges and opportunities of working with adult learners. -------------------- Course content The course will concentrate around topics such as: characteristics of an adult learner, learning styles, aims and strategies of adult learners, types of motivation, various approaches to teaching adults, planning a course for grown-ups, learning contracts, making a good impression during the first lesson, challenges in teaching business English learners. --------------------- Methods of instruction/ forms of classroom activity: The course will involve reading, debating and group work; ICT tools via MSTeams will be applied |

Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes: 50% final test 50% active participation in class, taking part in debates and group work |
