Course description: The course is a continuation of Academic writing 1 and focuses on deepening the students’ knowledge and academic writing skills including quoting and reference-making (according to MLA/APA guidelines), summarizing, paraphrasing and synthesizing academic texts in accordance with worldwide standards for published research. |

Course objectives: - developing advanced academic writing skills - practicing academic referencing skills (MLA/APA) - practicing academic discourse ------------------ Course content: 1. The formal properties and conventions of academic writing 2. Selected stylesheet guidelines (APA, MLA) 3. In-text citations and quotations 4. Compiling a bibliography 5. Paraphrase 6. Summary ----------------- Methods of instruction/ forms of classroom activity: short writing practice tasks, discussion, feedback, group tasks, ICT tool/MSTeams platform |
