  • roczny wymiar godzinowy nakładu pracy studenta konieczny do osiągnięcia zakładanych efektów uczenia się dla danego etapu studiów wynosi 1500-1800 h, co odpowiada 60 ECTS;
  • tygodniowy wymiar godzinowy nakładu pracy studenta wynosi 45 h;
  • 1 punkt ECTS odpowiada 25-30 godzinom pracy studenta potrzebnej do osiągnięcia zakładanych efektów uczenia się;
  • tygodniowy nakład pracy studenta konieczny do osiągnięcia zakładanych efektów uczenia się pozwala uzyskać 1,5 ECTS;
  • nakład pracy potrzebny do zaliczenia przedmiotu, któremu przypisano 3 ECTS, stanowi 10% semestralnego obciążenia studenta.

Skrócony opis:

During the course the student will get basic knowledge and skills related to interpersonal and social communication in intercultural context. Theoretical and practical background connected with socio-cultural diversity will be aimed at making students aware of the need of intercultcultural sensitivity.

The areas covered during classes will include:

1. Stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination; ways of modifying negative attitudes.

2. Dimensions of culture.

3. Micro aggressions in intercultural context.

4. Culture shock – reasons, stages and ways of overcoming.

5. Different types of cultural diversity.

6. Nonverbal communication and emotional expression in different cultural contexts.

7. Dealing with conflict in different cultures.

8. Stages of intercultural competence (ethnocentrism-ethnorelativism).

9. Types of dealing with cultural diversity (multi-, inter-, transculturalism).

10. Racism: critical theory of race, the notion of white privilege, the history and presence of racial attitudes.
