  • tygodniowy wymiar godzinowy nakładu pracy studenta wynosi 45 h;
  • 1 punkt ECTS odpowiada 25-30 godzinom pracy studenta potrzebnej do osiągnięcia zakładanych efektów uczenia się;
  • tygodniowy nakład pracy studenta konieczny do osiągnięcia zakładanych efektów uczenia się pozwala uzyskać 1,5 ECTS;
  • nakład pracy potrzebny do zaliczenia przedmiotu, któremu przypisano 3 ECTS, stanowi 10% semestralnego obciążenia studenta.

Course objectives:

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the specifics of the film industry, with particular focus on the documentary film industry. Students will get to know the process of producing a documentary, the players involved in it, as well as the possibilities of distributing and selling the finished film. By discussing these aspects of film production, students will acquire vocabulary that allows them to understand and discuss film industry specific matters, but that they will also be able to apply to other branches of business.

1.Stages and roles of creating a documentary

2. What does a producer do? What is a co-production and how does it work?

3. Pre-production: making a plan

4. Searching for funding, funding bodies, pitching

5. Who owns what rights? Film rights, intellectual property

6. Production stage

7. Industry Markets – meeting decisionmakers

8. Rough-cut stage and post-production

9. Film festivals

10. Distribution strategies. What is a sales agent?

11. Marketing campaign, impact campaign

12. Distribution platforms, how does distribution work? Broadcasters, slots etc.
