Exam description: Self-study exam tests students C1 proficiency level in English within four skills – writing, listening, reading and speaking comprehension as well as the use of English. |

Exam objectives: The aim of the examination is to test whether the students' language proficiency satisfies the C1-Level requirements with reference to: - understanding demanding texts which carry implicit meanings, - expressing her-/himself spontaneously, with relative fluency and precision, - flexible use of language for social purposes, - clear production of detailed, well-structured, and relatively complex texts, - controlled use of text organizational patterns. --------------------------- Exam content: As such, the exam has the following content: 1. The Writing part: content, text organization, vocabulary, language register, language correctness; Testing technique: discursive essay, 2. The Listening comprehension part: finding, matching, completing missing information; Testing techniques: multiple-choice test, cloze test, matching test, 3. The Reading comprehension part: finding, matching, completing missing information; Testing techniques: multiple-choice test, cloze test, matching test, 4. The Use of English part: vocabulary, grammar, spelling and punctuation, word formation; Testing techniques: multiple-choice test, cloze test, matching test, error-identification test, 5. The Conversation part: grammatical correctness, stylistic coherence, vocabulary, interactive communication, pronunciation; Testing technique: conversation in pairs with a limited participation of the examiners. --------------- Testing methods: written test in reading comprehension written test in listening comprehension written test in use of English writing test speaking test |

Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes 100% - written and oral test The accomplishment of all exam tasks is represented by a sum of percentage points scored in individual tasks. Final marks are granted according to the following framework: grade 2,0 (fail): 0–59% grade 3,0 (average): 60–68% grade 3,5 (plus average): 69–76% grade 4,0 (good): 77–84% grade 4,5 (plus good): 85–92% grade 5,0 (very good): 93–100% |
