(tylko po angielsku) This course consists of a series of lectures with powerpoint presentations. The course offers systematized knowledge of lexicography, an area related to linguistics, in order to broaden the students’ perspectives. After the course, they can integrate knowledge from various disciplines within the humanities. |

(tylko po angielsku) The lectures are designed to provide students with an overview of key issues in lexicography. They are considered to be an introduction to the field, so they start with a brief discussion of basic concepts (e.g. dictionary typology, macrostructure, microstructure, headword, entry structure, sense distinction, labels, examples of usage, citations). Special attention is paid to the history of Polish-English / English-Polish bilingual dictionaries, which students majoring in English should be acquainted with. On finishing the course, the students have a significantly widened knowledge in the field of (meta)lexicography. |
