The course is designed to raise students’ language proficiency at C1 level according to the criteria suggested by CEFR for languages) as regards: - appropriate usage of grammar structures - appropriate usage of English style in writing and reading |
Pełny opis: |
The course introduces grammatical knowledge with particular emphasis on stylistics. Basing on a selection of exercises focusing on a particular grammatical or stylistic issue, the students learn to combine meaning propositions in simple sentences into information bits in complex grammatical sentences. The course starts with introducing students to style, such as parallelism, linking words and phrases. Further, it proceeds to elements of grammar, such as for example, adverbials. |

Efekty uczenia się: |
Knowledge Student knows: 1. English at C1 level in terms of grammatical, lexical and stylistic rules of correct usage, as well as of various registers to be used appropriately to social contexts (k-W-1), 2. complexity and evolution of linguistic systems and meanings (k-W-1). Skills Student can: 3. use spoken and written English (relative to C1 level) correctly, fluently and effectively to discuss a variety of topics related to the condition of the individual in the modern society or to current issues (k-U-6). Social competences Student can: 4. fluently speak and competently write in English (at C1 level) (k-K-1), 5. cooperate with others in a team, assuming various roles (k-K-2) 6. be well-organized and reliable as regards assignments (k-K-5). |
