Course description

The course in art history and interpretation gives students an opportunity to learn how to appreciate objects of art, how to recognise the author's style, at what stage in a culture’s development or in an artist’s career the object in question was made, how to interpret objects of art.

Course objectives

to understand the stylistic and formal development of artistic traditions on a large scale and within a broad historical perspective

Forms of evaluation of learning outcomes

1. Active class participation - up to 70% of the final grade (outcome 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8)

2. Individual presentation followed by discussion - 30% of the final grade (outcome 2,3,4,5,6,7)

Criteria of evaluation:

60% = 3 (pass)

80% = 4

100% = 5
